I can never stop posting about this wine. The 2005 is a big-time winner, just like the 2003 and 2004. To recap: 100% Syrah, no oak, ageworthy. It is the best wine in the world for under 15 bucks…AGAIN!!!
I wish I still had some 03s, have 6 04s, and tucked a case of 05s away.
If you think that the only wines that you can cellar are expensive, trophy wines, you need to get a case of SC CDR. It will reward a year of cellaring and drink nice for years to come.
It’s SOOOOOOOO good! What a joy to drink a wine like this.
Did you get your case of this in Seattle? If so, where at? Thanks –
Yes! Broadway Market QFC…we have about 10 cases there.
I just tasted it again today and it really needs hours of decanting…actually still shows better the next day. Crazy to say about a 14 dollar wine, but true.
I just bought a case of the 2005 at Spec’s in Houston for $120. It is worth at least 3 or 4 times that. Tonight, it was our second bottle so I was forced to pace. It just got better and better. By the end it went from licorice to smoke to peat….It is just a pleasure.
