Normally, I cringe when I see wines with cutesy-labels with some cuddly animal. But with German Riesling, people are so scared off by the long words on the label, like Riesling Kabinett Helder Spelder Trocken Weirdenheimer (or something like that). So I understand the need from a marketing standpoint.

And this Riesling is delicious. I love how they describe it on the back label: “Dryish.” Yes! You get some sweetness but then it is cancelled out by the racy acidity. So it seems dry on the finish, even though you get that nice peach/apple fruit. Once again, here is the beauty of German Riesling in a nutshell:

Sweetness and acidity in balance.
