Brick House Chardonnay: Enjoying Oregon Wine on the Water

brick house chardonnayYou know I love Chardonnay with oak. So while I’ve been a guest host on this wine-focused Un-Cruise, I was pleased to discover a wine featured on the ship’s list: 2012 Brick House Chardonnay “Cascadia” from the Ribbon Ridge region of Oregon’s Willamette Valley. ($35 on Wine-Searcher)

The on-board bartender (YES!), Daniel, commented that it’s a wine that could make both anti- and pro-oak factions happy. I agree completely. It has just the exact right amount of oak for flavor and texture.

It’s been my go-to happy hour beverage after teaching my daily 5pm wine program. (More on that later.)

I like to take a glass and hang out on the deck. Especially when we’re cruising on the Snake River.

Let’s take a peek, shall we?

Damn, I think I left my glass back on the boat.
