Wow. You know how much I love the white, so I had sky-high expectations for the red. It’s from the 2001 vintage and is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. It is incredibly elegant, velvety, and lingering. It has some very subtle, very fine tannins. I cracked it open immediately after getting to work and then tried it again about 8 hours later at the end of the day. It had evolved beautifully, a dead ringer for an elegant Bordeaux with an incredible nose. I would love to drink this wine as it ages; I must buy a case. I recommend decanting this wine. One of the top red wines I have ever drank at the $20 level.
