Googling Manzone

Um, didn’t get the results I was expecting.

See, I just drank a mind-blowing 1997 Manzone Barolo La Gramolere.

Wow! All the hype about the 1997 vintage in Piedmont (and Tuscany) is true; every Italian wine I have had from this vintage has been exceptional. This Barolo had power to spare and exploded in my mouth. Yay! Then it had a very fine, smooth, lingering finish. I could have drank 10 bottles! This is built to last; I’ll hold onto my other one for a few more years. I also have a trio of 1998s that I am glad I bought.

The saying among wine geeks is that you always end up in Piedmont. Between Dolcetto, Barbera, Barbaresco, and Barolo, I am beginning to think the same thing.

Well Jameson, you know it is worth to give some wines a little bit of time in the cellar. Keep doing that and you’ll have some great drinking in the years to come!

do you end up in Piemont before or after Burgundy? I guess being marooned in either isn’t so bad.
I have been on a bit of a Dolcetto craze of late, though I have never atsted anything from manzone, either the Borolo or the gay porn, but i guarantee i will try one of them soon.
