Today I got to drink a 1964 Borgogno Barolo. Wow! To drink a wine that is 40 years old and so incredibly elegant…what a treat! It had a nose of dirt, earth, must, truffles/mushrooms, and a wonderful black cherry fruit as it glided down my throat. Just perfect.
BTW, Barolo is a red Italian wine from Piedmont and one of the most famous red wines in the world. This is what a great, long-lived wine is all about.
