Pleasure to know my pal Peabody. She’s the creator of Sweet ReciPEAs, and we have an informal food and wine pairing collaboration going. Our most recent? It involves her recipe for French Onion Salisbury Steak. For those of you old enough to remember Salisbury steak in the form of TV dinners, you will undoubtedly give praise to Peabody for rescuing this dish and putting an irresistible spin on it.
Not only do I like to provide the occasional wine pairing for Peabody, but I also am a fan of her blog. And her. She delivers fantastic recipes photographed in a manner that makes your stomach grumble in anticipation. Additionally, Peabody includes personal anecdotes, thoughts, and and candid commentary about what’s going on in her world.
This post concerns how Peabody interprets what’s romantic. I’ll give you a hint: “Sacrifice is sexy.”
Now let’s get to the wine. Part of my mission here is to find affordable bottles, so I’ve got a duo of South American gems. After you use 1/4 cup of red wine for the recipe, you’ll have plenty of leftover wine to enjoy with your SO.
And that little hint is all I’m going to give you. Check out the specifics on Peabody’s blog:
Thanks to Peabody for letting me use her photo.
The recepie on the other sites looks great and with a good Chilean wine I guess it is marvelous.
