The God of White Wine

The New York Times recently published an article on Condrieu, the 100% Viognier from the Northern Rhone that is rare and expensive. All this talk about Condrieu made me thirsty as I had not had one in a long time. Serendipitously, I got a chance to drink one from the same guy (Villard) who makes the Saint-Joseph Blanc that I love so much.

The Condrieu was unbelievable. It was rich, pure, and balanced with an incredible finish. I am just blown away by the whites this guy makes; they are two of the best whites I have EVER tasted. Astounding! What a beautiful wine.
