Pull up a chair, pour yourself a glass, and get cozy with these Weekend Wine Links. Let’s find out what I’ve been sampling online in the world of wine.

How about a quick wine review before getting started? That ok? La Clarine Farm is a cool winery out of California doing familiar and oddball (in the best way) stuff, and I enjoy being part of their wine club. Especially when something like this 2013 Petit Manseng shows up. My review from Instagram: “Golden, with a lovely texture. Surprising and fascinating.” It slightly reminded me of sherry, just not as salty and fortified. I like the labels a lot, too.

Now back to the regularly scheduled links. My friend Luke from Wine Country BC has some great tips on how to get the most out of a wine country visit, whether it’s in British Columbia or, really, anywhere in the world.

Next up, another friend, Elin McCoy, on the necessary elements that comprise a great wine list. At this point in my wine life (and increasingly curmudgeonly ways) when I go to the vast majority of restaurants, I just want a one-page list with thoughtful, creative, and reliable choices. (OK, maybe one page front-and-back.)

That time in Burgundy 5 flat tires resulted in sparkling wine and wild boar.

How do you go from the wholesale tool business to wine? Randall Grahm of Bonny Doon Vineyard explains. With plenty of footnotes.

Non-wine link: My friend Marissa has a Backyard Officebar Sanctuary. That is all.

This really was the week of friend tweets, eh?
