Wines I Bought Today

I actually spent a bit of money on wine today and picked up some things that are sold out or older vintages of favorites. Thank you, Esquin Wine Merchants; going there is sometimes like digging for records.

  • 2006 Leeuwin Art Series Riesling Margaret River: Aussie Riesling is truly one of the world’s most underrated wines and this dry example is a gem.
  • 2004 Felsina Fontalloro (375ml): Sometimes you can get an older vintage of a wine if you look for formats other than 750ml. This is one of my all-time favorite Tuscan wines/Italian wines/red wines period. It’s hard to get a better value for an ageworthy red. 100% Sangiovese.
  • 2004 Robert Sinskey Vineyards Cabernet Franc Vandal Vineyard: I love Sinskey’s whites, pink, and reds. I don’t have a lot of experience with California Cab Franc, but I figure based on my track record with Sinskey this will be a gem.
  • 2009 Sables d’Azur Rosé: Textbook cheap, dry rosé from Provence. Love the shape of the bottle!
