These were the wines poured for me at work yesterday by my affable Gallo rep:

• 2008 Maso Canali Pinot Grigio: Partially made with dried grapes, ripasso-style, and a bit of Chardonnay added. Still had a zippy finish.

• 2007 Las Rocas Vinas Viejas Garnacha: Big bruiser of a wine. Decant.

• 2008 Louis M. Martini Sonoma Country Cabernet Sauvignon: Nice elegant Cab. Great structure and complexity. Can’t do much better for a $15 Cali Cab.

• 2008 Ghost Pines Zinfandel: Not much of a Zin fan, but this one was not too sweet or syrupy. Pushing 15% alcohol but was not over-the-top.
