A quick rundown:

• 2009 Southern Right Sauvignon Blanc (South Africa): Sancerre meets (a touch of) New Zealand.
• 2009 Zuccardi Serie ‘A’ Torrontes (Argentina): Less soapy and perfumed than most Torrontes. Has a petrol nose that reminds me of German or Australian Riesling. Probably the best Torrontes I’ve had.
• 2008 Costieres de Pomerol Picpoul de Pinet (France): Every wine dork’s pet white.
• 2008 Domaine du Salvard ‘Unique’ Sauvignon Blanc (Frace): Salvard does no wrong; this is Cherverny, Jr.
• 2000 Lopez Heredia Gravonia (Spain): This is the current vintage! Spends years in barrel; oxidized style. For sommelier-types only, who would call it “interesting” and claim to like it.
• 2006 Gachot-Monot Cotes-du-Nuits (France): Decent red Burgundy; high acid. I didn’t love it; I didn’t hate it.
• 2007 Von Simmern QbA Riesling (Germany): Delicious. Always surprised by German Rieslings with residual sugar; I know they are a little sweet, but with that great acidity they seem so fresh and chug-worthy.
