Yes, More California Cabernets

2002 Mount Eden Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon. 75% Cab, 23% Merlot, 2 % Cab Franc. 100% totally awesome. Very complex, great mountain fruit. Positively Bordeaux-esque. From 2000 feet high in the Santa Cruz Mountains. A stunner. Buy a case and enjoy over the next few years. It should retail for about 35 bucks. One of the most impressive reds for the money. Fantastic with food, as well.

Go buy it. Now.

And don’t listen to the Wine Speculator on this one. This review boggles my mind:

This wine suffers from muddled earth and leather flavors and a touch of green bean and melted plastic. While it’s intense and concentrated, the flavors are off the mark for me

76 points?!? Give me a break. Well, with good press, this wine would be sold out and/or double the price. So thanks for the bad review! More wine for me.

I could not agree more. I have had the 2001 twice this year and both times they were fantastic! Word!
