Pepiere Muscadet Magnum

Why should red wine have all the fun? Thankfully, you can get Pépière Muscadet in magnums. And not just any Muscadet, but the old-vine, single-vineyard Clos des Briords. Muscadet, from the western edge of France’s Loire Valley, is made from the Melon de Bourgogne grape. Not only is it the ultimate oyster wine, it is also one of my all-time favorite wines, period. Impressive with the lively zip and zest of a refreshing white wine, the Clos des Briords also has a nicely structured and balanced flavor from start to finish. Subtly rich,  it is a memorable wine that would age nicely. I think. That’s because I never can hold onto one long enough. Why? Because it’s made for sharing.

Read about a bottle I shared with Nicole and Rolf from Wine Trendsetter.  I think they ended up agreeing that magnums of wine make people happy.
