All wine nuts should see this movie. It’s about an hour too long, and redundant, but worth seeing. It’s all about the globalization of wine and that all wines are starting to taste the same and lose their sense of place. The main villain in this documentary is Michel Rolland, who just wants to “micro-oxygenate” [More]
WOW!!! La Poussie is a natural amphitheater!!! I want to frolic in the vineyards. Or have the Fiery Furnaces play an acoustic show for me, and we will drink tons of Sancerre and Sancerre Rosé!
La Poussie Sancerre
This is why you spend over 20 bucks for a Sauvignon Blanc. This Sancerre comes from the vineyard La Poussie, which forms a natural amphitheater. Just peep the label for a photo. What blew me away was how approachable and elegant these wines were, with nice acidity. I thought they would me monsters, with mouth-searing [More]
More Thoughts on South African Sauv Blanc

South African Wine
We had a tasting of some reds and whites and I was quite impressed. Sauvignon Blanc has mega-acidity (and sometimes not much else, but I like the style). They are very uniquely South African. Worth trying and under 10 bucks. Great food wine: salad, shellfish. More impressed with Chenin Blanc. They have more CB vineyards [More]
